I had no idea when I was selected to create a room set at the #IdealHomeShow how much work would be involved.
The initial submission of a mood board with the scheme was the easy bit!

Sourcing the products, is the real challenge and for various reasons products have to be changed. As any Interior Design knows, when just one thing changes in a scheme, it can have a disastrous effect on the overall design, so back to the drawing board!

I was overwhelmed by the support I received from the small independents who I have mentioned in my previous comments, and disappointed with a couple of well known brands who either flatly refused or didn’t even respond!
However a big thank you to #Dunelm who went the extra mile and #FeatherandBlack who loaned the amazing woodland wall mounts.

Eventually the scheme completed it was time to build the set. Paint brush in hand we got cracking with #Autentico Velvet wall paint in Chalk Grey and Cole & Son Woods and Stars wallpaper as the feature wall.

#Branaganflooring we’re amazing as always and installed the parquet on the afternoon of the first day. By the end of a long tiring but fun day the room was ready to dress.

Day 2 the furniture had all arrived, some of which had to be assembled. So a big thank you to the team at the Ideal Home Show, as building furniture is not my strong point!

All finished and ready for the show!

It was so nice on the Thursday to stand back, take a breath! My new friend Natalie and I cheekily stood near our room sets to observe and listen to visitors. I’m please to say that all the comments were favourable and complimentary!

I love designing kids rooms and this was a great opportunity to showcase my work and be creative.

If you attended the show, I hope you enjoyed it and had a chance to check out our work!
